Version 1.0 · Service Schedule
Service-specific terms for virtual private servers and cloud servers, including root access, software responsibility, snapshots, backups and security. Sections 6 (Charges and payment), 7 (Renewals and price changes), 8 (Suspension and termination) and 10 (Liability) of the Master Services Agreement apply to this Schedule.
1. Scope
1.1This Schedule applies to VPS, cloud server and virtual infrastructure services supplied by Hosting UK.
1.2Where the Customer purchases Managed Services for a VPS or cloud server, the Managed Services Schedule also applies.
2. Virtual infrastructure
2.1Hosting UK is responsible for the underlying virtualisation platform, host infrastructure, network and storage systems used to provide the VPS or cloud service.
2.2The Customer acknowledges that maintenance, failover, resource balancing and platform changes may be required from time to time to maintain the VPS or cloud platform.
3. Customer administration
3.1Unless Managed Services are purchased, the Customer is responsible for administration of the virtual server, including root or administrator access, users, passwords, firewall rules, operating system configuration and application configuration.
3.2The Customer shall use administrative access carefully and shall be responsible for any loss, outage, security issue or support requirement caused by misuse or misconfiguration.
4. Operating system and software
4.1Unless Managed Services are purchased, the Customer is responsible for operating system updates, software updates, patching, application management, licensing and security hardening.
4.2Hosting UK may provide templates, images or preinstalled software, but does not warrant that such software will remain supported, secure or compatible with Customer applications indefinitely.
4.3Hosting UK may require unsupported, end-of-life or vulnerable software to be upgraded, isolated, restricted or removed where it presents a security or operational risk.
5. Resources and platform management
5.1VPS and cloud resources are provided according to the package purchased and may include CPU, memory, storage, bandwidth, IP addresses and related resources.
5.2Hosting UK may apply technical controls to maintain fair use, stability and availability of the virtualisation platform.
5.3The Customer must not use the Service in a way that materially affects the platform, host nodes, storage, network or other customers.
6. Snapshots and backups
6.1Snapshots, where available, are intended for short-term operational use and are not a replacement for backups.
6.2Unless Backup Services or Managed Services are purchased, the Customer is solely responsible for maintaining current and recoverable backups.
6.3Hosting UK does not guarantee recovery from snapshots or backups unless expressly agreed in writing.
7. Security
7.1The Customer is responsible for securing the VPS or cloud server unless Managed Services expressly provide otherwise.
7.2Hosting UK may isolate, restrict, suspend or disconnect a VPS or cloud server where it is compromised, vulnerable, abusive, attacking third parties or materially affecting the platform.
8. IP addresses
8.1IP addresses remain the property of Hosting UK or its suppliers and are provided only for use with the Service during the term.
8.2Additional IP addresses may require technical justification and compliance with applicable network policies.
9. Managed services
9.1Managed Services apply only where purchased and accepted by Hosting UK.
9.2The presence of hosting control panels, monitoring agents or management tools does not by itself mean that the VPS or cloud server is managed.
10. Suspension
10.1Hosting UK may suspend the VPS or cloud Service in accordance with the Master Services Agreement, including for non-payment, abuse, security risk, platform risk or breach of this Schedule.
