From a single server to a
national network
Hosting UK was founded in 1998 in St Asaph, North Wales, while the founder was recovering from a serious accident. What began as a single Windows server and a curious mind grew into a consultancy serving clients including HBOS, Pilkington Glass and Everton FC - and from there into the hundreds of servers and the well-connected, ultra-fast, secure UK network we run today.

19981998Where it all began
Founded by Phil Parry from his home in St Asaph, North Wales, while recovering from a serious accident. With time on his hands and a fascination for the emerging web, Phil set up a single Windows server and began offering hosting at a time when most providers were Linux-only and the fax machine still ruled business communication.
A recovery project that turned into a lifelong business - built in North Wales, still proudly British today.
20032003Database-driven everything
By now database-driven content and websites were most definitely the thing to have, and we were well established providing everything a developer needed.
Our low prices and high-value services were helping people and businesses get online every day.
20052005A grown-up product set
Our first professionally redesigned website launched as our range expanded to domain names, websites, dedicated servers, connectivity, and hosting on both Windows and Linux.
Cutting-edge dedicated servers offered a whopping 512MB of RAM and a single 80GB hard drive.
20102010A national network
By 2010 we were operating from data centres in London and Manchester and our facility at our head office in North Wales - all linked by our own redundant network spanning all three.
We embraced the cloud and added Microsoft Exchange, Cloud Backup and Managed Hosting to the mix.
20112011The founding fathers
A milestone day at the St Asaph data centre - the team gathered outside as the back-up generator was installed and powered up for the very first time. A serious bit of resilience engineering, marked with the obligatory mug of tea.
Affectionately known around the office as 'the founding fathers' - the people who built Hosting UK from the ground up.
20122012Joining a wider UK group
In October 2012 we became part of a leading UK cloud computing group - gaining access to greater resources, deeper engineering expertise, and a national footprint of data centres.
Customers benefited from a rock-solid network spanning ten wholly-owned UK data centres.
20152015A new era
A new website for a new era. Our servers were faster, our network was faster, and our support better than ever.
Optimised WordPress hosting and Office 365 plans expanded our offering for an ever-growing customer base.
2024202426 years strong
We marked 26 years online with a sense of nostalgia and pride. Remarkably, some of the same familiar faces are still with us - though perhaps a bit more seasoned - alongside a new generation of engineers carrying the same standards forward.
One thing remains constant: an unwavering passion for helping customers get online and stay online.
20262026Maidenhead expansion
A major investment year. We've significantly expanded our footprint at the Maidenhead data centre - adding new racks, denser NVMe-backed compute, and additional 100Gbps interconnects to handle growing customer demand for managed cloud and high-traffic WordPress and WooCommerce hosting.
