Are the VPS Servers Backed Up?

All Hypervisor nodes have their data on either a fast distributed SSD Cloud Storage array providing extremely fast and redundant storage.

This storage system is highly available and can cope with multi drive failure without data loss. For our Custom SSD Cloud VPS a daily snapshot of it's data taken. Customers with High Speed VPS can choose this as an option after purchase - contact us for more details

As an additional service, all customers can opt for our Continuous Data Protection (CDP) service with which four backups a day are taken of any changes to your VPS data, providing the ability to make a point in time restore.

Can I upgrade my VPS?

Yes, you can upgrade and downgrade the RAM and CPU on your VPS at any time, and disk can be upgraded (but not downgraded) perfect for scaling as your needs demand.

What am I able to do with my VPS?

Anything you like so long as it is legal and complies with our acceptable usage policy and terms and conditions. You have root / administrator access so you are in control of what you do on your VPS.

What software can I install?

Anything you like providing it's legal - the responsibility is yours for ensuring anything you install is correctly licensed.

How do I make sure that I get a fair share of resources.

Your resources are guaranteed and not oversold. The resources you pay for are yours and reserved for you and you alone.

Do I get Administrator or Root access?

Your account has full administrative rights when you connect either via SSH (Linux) or RDP (Windows)

How many other VPS share the server I'm on?

It's determined by resources used as we never overload a server so once the resources are allocated that hardware node is determined full. We've gone to great lengths to ensure that the resources are allocated fairly and that each VPS performs optimally.

On Windows VPS is ASP.NET installed?

All VPS are installed as standard installs and so you can choose to install (or not) asp.net, IIS or anything else that ships with a normal install.

How many IP addresses do I get?

By default one address is installed but you can add more if you need up to a maximum of five.  More than this would require justification.

Can I get more than the default allocation of IP addresses?

You can by upgrading from your control panel or at the point of order.

Can I buy two VPS and create a cluster?

Yes you are able to do this.  In-fact you can add as many as you need.

What SLA do you offer?

The VPS cloud is self healing so if we need to take a hardware node down for maintenance everything fails over to other available nodes. This is rare so don't expect any interruptions soon. Our BGP network has multiple paths and so even when we lose a connection we can keep running.

We're confident enough to offer a 100% uptime guarantee on our network and will credit you for every hour of downtime on our network.

Like any hosting company though, we need to perform network maintenance and server maintenance occasionally and when we do we'll be sure to inform you via e-mail that we are going to do so. If an emergency situation could occur where we need to do something without formal notice we'll let you know why when we're done dealing with it.

What about DNS?

Any customers with domains on our DNS are able to manage them for free using our control panel. You're able to set up and amend DNS records instantly. You are of course free to set up your own DNS server on your VPS and use that as as an alternative.
