All 13 of our UK data centres run on 100% renewable energy from wind, hydro and solar. And at our flagship Maidenhead site, 560 rooftop solar panels now generate clean power directly above the racks they keep online.

Our flagship 2,800 m² Maidenhead data centre - home to more than 12,000 servers - now has 560 rooftop solar panels feeding clean power straight into the building. Installed by solar specialists 3ti and completed in May 2024, the array is designed to make the site largely self-sustaining for power through the summer months.

The Maidenhead solar array is part of a much wider commitment. All 13 of our UK data centres are powered by 100% renewable energy - sourced from a mix of UK wind, hydro and solar generation - so no matter which site your services run from, the electricity behind them is clean.
Sustainability isn't one decision - it's dozens of small ones, made consistently. Here's what we focus on.
560 rooftop photovoltaic panels at our flagship Maidenhead data centre generate around 250,000 kWh a year - feeding straight into the building's primary power.
Every one of our 13 UK data centres runs on 100% renewable energy from wind, hydro and solar - not just the flagship site.
N+1 precision cooling holds the halls at a steady 22°C ±2°C with fully redundant air handling, running at a measured PUE of 1.6.
Decommissioned servers are refurbished, repurposed or responsibly recycled through certified WEEE partners - minimising e-waste at every stage.
Continuous PUE monitoring, efficient virtualisation and consolidated workloads mean every watt is used wisely - reducing your carbon footprint.
We don't hide behind vague green badges. Ask us about our energy mix, PUE figures and supplier certificates - we'll share them.
The hosting industry has a real environmental footprint. Data centres use a lot of power, hardware uses a lot of materials, and cooling uses a lot of water. Renewable energy and rooftop solar are a meaningful start - but they're a start, not a finish line.
We'd rather be straight about that than dress it up. So here's what we're working on next, and where we know we still have to do better.
Better PUE reporting, embodied-carbon tracking for hardware, and clearer per-customer footprint data - so what we share is verifiable, not vibes.
Higher rack densities, smarter virtualisation and longer hardware lifecycles. The greenest server is one we don't have to replace.
Working with suppliers, partners and customers to reduce upstream emissions - because our footprint doesn't stop at the data centre door.
If you've got ideas, challenges or want to hold us to account on any of this - please do. We'd rather have the honest conversation.

"Green hosting" gets thrown around a lot. We try to keep it simple and honest - these are the principles we hold ourselves to.
Same fast, fully managed hosting - running on renewable energy, in an efficient UK data centre, with hardware that's looked after for the long term.
