As we all get more accustomed to the cloud-based lives we lead, \u2018everything, everywhere, all the time\u2019 becomes the norm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We rely less on physically located single servers doing one thing (well), but with a single point of vulnerability and, therefore, potential failure & downtime.  This is where Microsoft Exchange Online comes in\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously customers would have hosted Exchange servers in-house or relied on excellent hosting companies maintaining Exchange platforms in their own data centres.  Whilst there was an often-enormous overhead on the maintenance of these systems, both CAPEX and OPEX, things worked relatively smoothly most of the time…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, as the internet matured, so did the number of people trying to abuse Exchange platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Security patching was a never-ending game of cat and mouse, and inevitably, some poorly maintained platforms became vulnerable to attack and compromise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Microsoft matured as a cloud-based provider, so has their perspective on how they want to deliver Exchange to ISPs, businesses, and end-users. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microsoft has stopped supporting updates for many versions of their hosted Exchange platforms whilst launching their Cloud Offering \u2013 Microsoft 365<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Microsoft 365 business products are now mature, secure and used by millions worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The benefits provided by Cloud-based Exchange have been proven over the years; it\u2019s highly available with minimal downtime, and it\u2019s incredibly secure, as patching and security is taken care of centrally (by Microsoft).  It\u2019s also very flexible in how you buy, use, and upgrade it to other complimentary packages within the Microsoft Business 365 product suite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
